Pencils
- Blackwing Volume 33 1/3 – great workhorse pencils for writing or sketching, inspired by vinyl records
- Staedtler Mars Lumograph100 – concise set of softhead pencils for drawing on the go
- Sanford Magicrub – for blending those drawings on the go when dirty fingers are a faux pas
- Mitsubishi Vermillion/Prussian Blue Pencils – doublesided utility drafting classic
- Graphicgear 500 – affordable backup mechanical pencil
- Rotring 600 and 800 – the greatest pencils I have ever touched. Every centimeter of the design is perfection from the milling, to the efficient way it breaks, to its ergonomic feel.

- Kaweco Sport Mechanical – Compact writer’s pencil a la Lawrence Durrell
- Koh-i-Noor Mechanical Hardtmuth Lead Holder – writes on wet surfaces, thick and smooth
- Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor – soft, subtle color pencils
- Koh-I-Noor Progresso – for in depth drafting sessions
- Artgum Eraser – for mistakes
